Will the converted image keep its quality?
Lossless outputs keep pixel data. Lossy outputs start with a high-quality balanced profile, and you can choose a smaller file or maximum quality. Converting an already compressed image cannot restore detail that was previously removed.
Why can the converted file be larger?
File size depends on the target format and image content. PNG and BMP can be much larger than JPG, WebP, HEIC, or AVIF because they preserve more data. The result shows the exact size difference before download.
What happens to animation and transparency?
This is a still-image converter. For animated GIF input it converts the first frame. Transparency is kept by PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC, BMP, and GIF where the format permits it; JPG uses a white background.
