Create a barcode that scans reliably

Choose the format required by the receiving system, enter its data, and keep a clear quiet zone around the bars. EAN, UPC, and ITF-14 can calculate a missing check digit; test the final print at its real size because screens do not reproduce every printer, label stock, or scanner condition.

Validation is not product registration

The tool checks format rules and renders locally in this browser tab. A mathematically valid EAN, UPC, or ITF-14 code does not prove that its company prefix or number was allocated by GS1 or accepted by a retailer.

Frequently asked questions

What is a check digit?

It is the final digit calculated from the preceding digits. For EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8, and ITF-14, you may enter the payload without it and the generator will add it, or enter the full value for validation.

Why does quiet zone and print testing matter?

Scanners need blank space on both sides to find the bars. Preserve that margin and test the exported code after printing at its intended size and material.

Does a valid barcode mean it is registered with GS1?

No. Format and check-digit validation cannot confirm ownership, GS1 allocation, retailer listing, or product registration.
